Hello two-tier painted side table

A few (a.k.a. many) weeks ago, I tasked myself with reading Morgan’s The Brick House from start to finish. And, I have to say I’ve made a lot of progress – Actually more than anything else on my to-do list lately.

Her quest has as such become my quest. As it turns out, this hunt to make the new place the home of my dreams has absorbed much of my free time. You know how you can pick up the habits of those around us, well I’ve seemingly picked up some of Morgan’s habits. Guess I’ve been completely saturated with her approach to decorating and have adopted her mantra of “Buy shit you like, and figure it out later.”

In true The Brick House fashion, I spent my Sunday morning rearranging the living room and negotiating a price on a table. By 2pm, I was able to pick up this little gem for $15 off of Craig’s List.

It has good bones but needs a lot of help. The white spray paint job is a bit splotchy and doesn’t really go with my living room. I’m debating between painting it black or a light teal (like the pillow in the picture above) to go along with everything else in the living room. Black would be so sleek and would go with the metal and glass table on the other side of the sofa…

Black side table(My apologies for the bad focusing job.)

But I’ve been really falling in love with painted furniture I see keeps popping up on décor blogs like …. And ….. See pictures below for inspiration.

So what do y’all think a painted side table in…black or teal?? Decisions…decisions. At least I’m not in a rush to get this done. I really should be putting effort into finishing staining the console table instead of following Morgan’s mid-century adventures.

Ah, sigh. I started this project Memorial Day weekend and am so ready to have my dining room back. Must. Finish. It.

PS. I’ve been denying myself a pool day until I finish it. Too bad I went to the beach in avoidance.

Make sure to get a High Gloss spray paint, or the paint job will continue to look “do it yourself’

Good point. Perhaps I should use a roller or brush to ovoid the over spray. Do you have any thoughts on the color? I’m still undecided.
