Giant Purple People Watcher
That’s what she was for the first time today…but not really…

Alright, get ready for a formal admission…. Okay, ready? Now, wait for it…Are you waiting? Just kidding. Now I’m ready…
I am a people watcher y’all – you guys – or however you want to be addressed.
I can’t help it. It’s interesting. It’s entertaining. It addicting. It’s real life front and center. It’s watching the most visible part private, inner human motivations.
Most of all, it’s a great way to explore the meaning of humanity. Now that’s pretty heavy material right there. But it’s not scary and if you’re discrete it’s not obtrusive.
It is simply fascinating to observe people in their element or those times when they step outside of what you can only assume to be their comfort zone…Other’s actions really make me think.
I got to thinking about this activity after a lovely dinner conversation with a friend the other night.
People watching shouldn’t be one of those secret obsessions like stalking. You learn about life and relationships by watching other people. Everybody does it. You start from the earliest age. Babies learn from watching others. It’s just natural.
Sometimes the simple exploration of life can get carried away. Take a look at the sheer presence of reality T.V. in our lives. The entertainment industry has exploited our inherent love of people watching.
So the next time you catch yourself analyzing the strangers around you, take a minute to think what they may be learning from you. Maybe you can pass along a little wisdom.
Cheers,
G
